Hello there! After a very long hiatus I have found my way back here. I don't know what it is about the winter/fall season it just makes me want to write. So here is a little something that I have had prepared for the longest time that I have just now come around to publishing. Hope you like it!

For me, Style is something that gathers your past experiences and summarizes your personal points of view on life. I found this to be true after I summarized my journey to it.

As a little girl I was always dressed by my mother in very girly outfits.
I honestly don't think I ever repeated an outfit (Perks of being the first born girl).

As pre-adolescence approached the number of  trial and error outfits increased. It was then that I believed I was old enough to dress myself (at least on the weekends). Mom didn't agree.

Middle school happened and I began to be influenced by my music taste which was also maturing at that time. I grew up with one older brother that drove me around everywhere. That meant that everything he played while I was in the car got stuck in my head and I eventually learned to love it.
I learned the lyrics to bands like Nirvana, The Strokes, The Hives and my favorite to this day, The Arctic Monkeys. Before I knew it I was sporting the same faux leather jacket (almost) every single day for three years. Yes, even in the summer. This is my baby. I'm sad to say I can't wear it anymore, but I will be buried in it at my funeral. That is for sure!

For me, the leather jacket was sort of a way to rebel into my own idea of fashion which was mom-friendly. (She helped make that purchase. Thanks mom!) For some strange reason I found that it made me feel protected in that awkward stage of life. This is completely mental, and it worked!

As high school came around I began to find my fashion staples easier than before.
I first heard of Pinterest my junior year of high school and it was love at first sight. I now use it as a place for reference for anything I will ever need and I encourage my little sister to use to help her develop her sense of style. It has actually inspired her to play around with her outfits more and has sparked her overall imagination. Pinterest is a massive research tool to use for basically anything!

My Philosophy in 10 Pins

Hello there! I am here once again challenging myself to create new content!
So, as some of you may know I am particularly fond of this website called Pinterest.
I tend to spend most of my free time pinning and looking at my boards.
So I challenged myself to pick 10 pins that can be used to describe my philosophy accurately.
Here we go!
Because no one should be allowed to tell you what you should and shouldn't do with your body as well as with your beliefs. This is your life, why should you be miserable in it because of some standards that society has placed on you. I believe that everyone should value themselves enough to follow through with what they believe in. Holding that type of passion for life is what will help our society evolve. Fight for your right, so that we can party already! :)
This is very self explanatory. You are going to have to walk on this earth for a while, so you might as well look as fabulous as you can!

As simple as this seems, many people feel the need to change for someone, and that is completely ridiculous! You will have to live with yourself for the rest of your life! So feel free to become even more marvelous on your own terms!
Because improving many aspects of society at once seems very unrealistic, one must start with oneself. Even though it may seem hopeless at first, there will always be someone who shares your opinions or are open to listen to them. So the revolution must always begin within, if not then we would establish a very hypocritical society.
If reading this does not make you feel 10 times better about yourself, then I don't know what can.
We have so much potential, we must embrace it!

This gem is one that may just take the cake! I feel as if everyone thinks that their past defines them, however they seem to forget that they have the power to spontaneously change just because they feel like it. :)
I am guilty of thinking like this, but it eliminates everything you know for certain that you don't want or need. Therefore, it should be a relief that you respect yourself enough to know what not to do.
You have to start somewhere!

I upgraded to this mentality earlier this year and I have never been so happy!
So worth it!
Simple and to the point. I love it!

So there you go! That is my philosphy in 10 pins. I definitely loved putting this together!
Let me know what your philosophy is in 10 pins by putting a board together on Pinterest.
I'd love to take a look at them!

What is beauty?

Hello there!
I am back as promised! By now many of you have probably seen or heard about the journalist, Esther Honig, who sent her picture to get photoshopped by 40 individuals from 25 different cultures to make her "beautiful". If you have not seen her project, "Before and After", then please do so here.
This project is made to compare the beauty standards on a global scale as well as to recognize that they may be unattainable because photoshop is involved.
This project got me thinking about what beauty standards I hold. To be completely honest, I see beauty as a very simple thing to achieve. I believe that true beauty comes from being apologetically yourself, no matter who likes it or not and being comfortable in showing yourself as you are. There is a certain confidence and mentality that comes with staying true to oneself that demands everyone's attention.
So for me, beauty is a "come as you are" concept. (I am a 90s girl. It's a Nirvana reference. Haha!)
I'd like to know what your idea of beauty is!
Leave me a comment!

Music Monday: Heart-shaped Box by Nirvana (Kawehi Cover)

Hey there!
So I am quite a music junkie and need to have it blasting in the background in order for me to think straight (or else i'll start singing to myself and that requires energy). So I've decided to start "Music Monday" to beat those Monday blues which do not seem to go away. I actually saw this video because my friend Shelby posted it on FB, and I absolutely loved it. It was one of those moments when you feel a rush of emotions overwhelm you and you somehow like it. I think that the beauty of the cover lies in the interpretation of this iconic song which means a lot to many people. It is so rad. Check it out!
I would love to hear what you think about this cover in the comments! I am really excited about Music Mondays! I have so much to share with you!
See ya!
